Text message consent
People sign up for Inforce policy texts one way: by saying yes to their insurance agent on a phone call, after the agent reads them the script below. This page shows that script, what the agent sees while reading it, and every kind of text the program sends.
Who sends the texts, and why
Covenant Capital Consulting LLC operates Inforce, a platform licensed insurance agents at insurance agencies use to text their own clients. The texts go to people who bought a policy from that agent and agreed on the call to be texted about it. They are policy servicing, not marketing: a confirmation when the policy is submitted, and a reminder if there is a problem with a payment. Each text names the agent and the agency and says “Sent via Inforce”. None contains a link.
How consent is collected
- On the sales call, the agent logs the policy in Inforce and turns on the text.
- Inforce shows the agent the script, and the agent reads it to the client.
- If the client says yes, the agent checks “Client said yes”. Inforce records the script that was read, the agent, the client's number and the time. Without that check nothing is sent.
- The client's first text confirms the sign-up. Any other text comes after it.
The script, word for word
I'd like to text you about this policy. The texts come from me and my agency, sent through Inforce: a confirmation when your policy is submitted, and a reminder if there is ever a problem with a payment. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time. The terms are at useinforce.com/terms and the privacy policy is at useinforce.com/privacy. Do you agree to get these texts at this number, yes or no?
If the client says yes:
Thank you. You'll get a text confirming you're signed up.
What the agent sees
This is the consent block from the Log a sale screen, as it appears beside the Save button. It is shown here as a picture: the box can't be checked on this page.
